Spence: "Ready to go: this is a huge Club" The excitement in his voice, a glistening of the eyes when seeing the Trophy Room at Inter HQ. Djed Spence experienced his first day as an Inter player, a day filled with unforgettable moments, that will stay with him for the rest of his career. The English full-back spoke about his excitement with Inter TV following his arrival:Welcome to Inter. What does joining this Club at this stage of your career mean to you?"This is a huge Club and a big step for me and my family. I'm over the moon to be here and I'm ready to get started." What attracted you most to Inter? The Club, its history, the city or the chance to play in Serie A?"Definitely the Club's history. You only have to look behind us at all those trophies. This really is a massive Club." You've played in England, France and Italy. How have those experiences shaped you as a player?"They've shaped me a lot. You learn so much when you play abroad. I can say I became a man when I was abroad and I'm grateful for those experiences." You've already experienced Serie A during your first spell in Italy. What did that period teach you that can help you now at Inter? And what did it mean to play at San Siro as an opponent?"I remember it being a great time. So many legends have played there. It was a special experience, and now I'm happy to be coming back as an Inter player." You played at the FIFA World Cup with England, and we all remember your goal-line clearance against Giuliano Simeone's Argentina. Can we expect more moments like that at Inter?"Definitely. I'm the kind of player who likes to take risks, and that's exactly what you'll see from me at Inter." You're known for your pace and your ability to attack down the right, but there's more to your game than that. What do you think is your greatest strength? And what part of your game would you still like to improve?"My defensive ability is my biggest strength, along with my ball-carrying. I'd like to add more goals and assists to my game. If I can do that, I'll be in a very, very good place." Have you spoken to any of your new teammates yet? You already know John Stones and Josep Martínez, but is there anyone in particular you're looking forward to sharing the dressing room with?"I haven't spoken to any of them yet, but it's true that I was with Martínez at Genoa two years ago and with Stones at the World Cup. He dropped me a message the other day, I can't wait to see them and get started." Do you have a message for the Inter fans? What would you like to say to them?"Forza Inter!"
