PITTSBURG, KS -- The Missouri Southern Lions rebounded well from a 1-3 start to their season with a sweep over the Southwestern Oklahoma State Bulldogs on Wednesday night at the Gorilla Classic.
The Lions and Bulldogs served as the debut match of the collegiate invitational and dominance leaned towards the Lions, as Southwestern Oklahoma only recorded over 15 points in a set once throughout the match.
Junior Addysen Alvis, like in their opening weekend matches, led the way offensively with nine kills. She shared the team lead on the night with Freshman Kaelyn Kendrick, who also finished one kill shy of double digits.
On top of their success, the Lions were also efficient throughout the contest, recording a kill percentage of over 35 percent in over half of the sets played.
The Lions won't get much rest before their next match, as they will play a pair at the Gorilla Classic tomorrow. The Lions will kickstart the day at 9 a.m. against Arkansas Tech, before clashing with William Jewell at 4:30 p.m.
