Oologah came away with a split against a pair of Class 6A opponents, while Inola used a big third inning to highlight Friday's Rogers County softball action. The Lady Mustangs knocked off Yukon 7-3 before falling to Moore 3-0 at the Broken Arrow Festival, with Jocelyn Leak reaching a major career milestone in the latter game. Meanwhile, Inola pulled away from Booker T. Washington for a 10-3 home victory. BA FESTIVAL OOLOGAH 7, YUKON 3 Oologah jumped in front early and received a productive day from the bottom of its lineup to defeat Yukon 7-3 at the Broken Arrow Festival. Macey Calico led the Lady Mustangs with 3 RBIs while going 2-for-3 and stealing 2 bases. Emery Edmondson also finished with 2 hits as the Lady Mustangs totaled 8. Leak helped Oologah strike first with an RBI double in the opening inning as the Lady Mustangs used a pair of doubles to take an early advantage. Jyntri Standeford made the lead stand in the circle, allowing 3 runs on 7 hits through 4 1/3 innings. She struck out 2 without issuing a walk before Leak appeared in relief. Oologah also applied pressure on the bases with 4 steals. MOORE 3, OOLOGAH 0 Even in defeat, Leak had reason to remember Oologah's second game of the day. The Lady Mustangs' left-hander recorded the 500th strikeout of her career while turning in a strong five-inning performance in a 3-0 loss to Moore. Leak allowed 3 runs on 7 hits, struck out 6 and walked 1, but Oologah couldn't solve the Lady Lions' pitching. Avery Bates held the Lady Mustangs scoreless on 1 hit through 4 innings with 2 strikeouts and two walks. Edmondson accounted for much of Oologah's offense, finishing 2-for-2. REGULAR SEASON INOLA 10, BTW 3 A tie game didn't stay that way for long once Inola's offense went back to work. The Lady Longhorns responded to BTW's game-tying third inning with a 4-run outburst in the bottom half and pulled away for a 10-3 victory. Jaylee Hall went the distance in the circle, limiting the Lady Hornets to 3 hits over 7 innings. All of those runs against her were unearned as she struck out 6 and walked 3. Karissa Thornton led Inola with 3 RBIs, while Mady Williams and Katelynn Armstrong each collected 2 hits. The Lady Longhorns were also aggressive on the bases, stealing 9, with Williams and Brynlee Pratt each swiping multiple bags.
