The Seattle Seahawkswere defeated 19-16 by the Tennessee Titans in Week 2 of the NFL preseason, but the final score doesn't paint an accurate picture. The Seahawks began the game with their second-team offense against the Titans' 1st-string defense. Despite that, Seattle's offense dominated. The opening drive was an eight-play, 74-yard drive that ended with a 36-yard touchdown pass from Drew Lock to Elijah Arroyo. It was a busted coverage by the Titans as Arroyo got behind safety Kevin Winston Jr.
and cornerback Alontae Taylor. The Seahawks' second possession produced yet another explosive score. On just the fourth play, backup running back Jacardia Wright took advantage of some excellent blocking up front to run away from the Titans' starting defense for a 69-yard score. Titans superstar defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons were among those lost in the clutter. Seahawks backup quarterback Drew Lock was efficient and productive. He completed 12-of-14 passing attempts for 103 yards, the aforementioned touchdown to Arroyo, and zero interceptions.
He was not sacked, either. It was an extremely promising sign for the defending Super Bowl champions. The offense has enough depth to dominate the defensive starters of a rebuilding NFL team.
