It’s the first big loss of the season for Seattle. Watching Bobo’s season end in one play felt uniquely heartbreaking compared to all the jubilation the franchise has enjoyed since February. It’s also a jarring wake-up call that nothing is guaranteed, not even the next play.

Fortunately, Foster had been one of the standouts of camp so far. He looked like the ready-made fill-in for any wide receiver that went down, especially Bobo. They both profile as big, possession wideouts. for the 53-man roster in Bobo’s place, claiming the WR5 spot behind Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Rashid Shaheed, Cooper Kupp, and Tory Horton Jr. When Foster came off shortly after Bobo, though, the Seahawks were down to Emmanuel Henderson Jr., Cody White, and Ricky White as the next receivers. The team’s invested in all three by drafting and/or keeping them around, but none had separated themselves like Foster.

Macdonald opened by saying he thought Foster’s injury was heat-related, not pertaining to the lower body, which is what it looked like in Bell’s video. Tackle Abraham Lucas also came off with an apparent heat-related issue. Macdonald’s exact words were “I think everything else was heat-related.” In that case, Foster’s outlook as Bobo’s replacement can still be just as bright. Hopefully he’s ready to lead the team in receiving for the second straight preseason game on Sunday. specific response was, “I think everything else was heat-related”.
