BROOKINGS, S.D. (KELO) — We're a few days away from kickoff and the nation's third ranked team heading into 2026, the South Dakota State University Jackrabbits, will open at home against the Stetson Hatters. SDSU returned a lot of upper classmen talent this season, and with this experience comes leadership. In addition to 5th year quarterback Chase Mason and senior tight end Coleman Kuntz, preseason first team All-American offensive lineman Quinten Christensen will also wear a 'C' on his jersey this year for the offense. Having turned down big money NIL deals to stay and lead this SDSU program, Christensen wants the best for this team and says he won't settle for anything less, as evidenced by his leadership style. "Truthful," Christensen said. "I hold guys accountable because I really care a lot and that doesn't mean I skate by myself either, I'm really hard on myself and I hold myself accountable, but I'm a vocal guy and I push guys. I push guys to their limit because I want what's best for everybody." The Jacks open their season this Saturday night at home against Stetson, you can catch that game on KELO-TV at 6:00 pm.
