Scottie Scheffler, as deliberate and dominant as ever, ran away with the FedEx St. Jude Championship on Aug. 16 at TPC Southwind.

The No. 1 golfer in the world — who took control of the tournament with a course record-tying, second-round 61 on Aug. 14 — never trailed afterward and handled business with relative ease. He shook off an early bogey (one of just six over four rounds), cruising down the stretch to finish with a 17-under 263.

The win (worth $3.6 million) is the 21st of Scheffler’s career, which is third among active golfers on the PGA Tour, behind only Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy. It is also Scheffler’s third career victory in a FedEx Cup Playoffs event. He won the FedEx Cup in 2024.

Runner-up Si Woo Kim (9-under) wound up as Scheffler’s closest competitor. But any legitimate threat to his two-stroke lead entering Championship Sunday — Sam Burns and Sungjae Im, for instance, who were both tied for second after three rounds — faded early. Burns’ double bogey on No. 3 set the tone for his final-round 4-over par. And Im’s mid-round stretch of three bogeys in a six-hole span cooked his chances of contending with Scheffler.

Scheffler’s victory is only the second time since 2020 the Memphis event has been decided in regulation. It also marks his first win in the Bluff City in nine appearances, which dates to the 2014 FedEx St. Jude Classic, when he participated as an amateur.

Scheffler becomes the first to win the PGA event in Memphis as the top-ranked golfer in the Official World Golf Rankings since Brooks Koepka at the 2019 World Golf Championships-FedEx St. Jude Invitational.
