Scottie Scheffler enjoyed a walk in the park in Memphis on Sunday.

The world No. 1 ended his victory drought in convincing fashion, shooting 4-under 66 at TPC Southwind and winning the FedEx St. Jude Championship by eight strokes over Si Woo Kim.

It’s almost laughable to say Scheffler’s victory snapped a drought of hoisting trophies on the PGA Tour but his previous longest stretch between first and second victories had been 28 days. Scheffler captured The American Express in January and had gone 203 days since tasting victory. That included five runner-up finishes during that stretch, tied for the most in the last 40 years on Tour with six other players.

Scheffler notched his 21st Tour title, matching the career win total of the likes of World Golf Hall of Fame members Davis Love III and Lanny Wadkins, and the third-youngest to do so behind Tiger Woods and Jack Nicklaus.

Scheffler got off to a sluggish start with a bogey at the par-5 third hole after his greenside bunker shot splashed out, hit a sprinkler head, took a big bounce and rolled into a water hazard. But he bounced back with a birdie at the fifth and then the golf god’s evened the score at No. 6 when he pulled his tee shot left but got a fortuitous bounce to the first cut of rough. He took advantage, making a birdie to extend his lead.

It also didn’t hurt that none of his nearest chasing competitors had their best stuff. God friend Sam Burns, who shot 62 on Saturday, and Sungjae Im, the only player to move into the top 50 and advance to next week’s BMW Championship, both stumbled to 72 and 73 respectively.

Scheffler made a driver switch this week that could stick and displayed his usual ball-striking excellence, ranking fourth in the field for the week, but it was his putter that was the story of the week. He ranked first in Strokes Gained: Putting for the week, and when he does that, it’s typically not a fair fight. He birdied the first five holes on Friday en route to 9-under 61, which included two bogeys, and poured in putts of 20 feet at No. 11 and 21 feet at No. 13 and the rout was on. He added another birdie at 16 to solidify his winning total of 17-under 263. As a measure of his dominance, Scheffler was the only player to finish in double-digits for the week.

Scottie Scheffler reacts to putt on the 11th green during the final round of the 2026 FedEx St. Jude Championship at TPC Southwind.

The win means Scheffler owns multiple victories in each of his five seasons on Tour, and marked his 11th straight win when holding the outright 54-hole lead. It should help Scheffler make a case for being the Tour’s Player of the Year, an honor he’s chasing for the fifth straight time.

Scheffler banked $3.6 million to improve to No. 2 on the Tour's career money list, passing Rory McIlroy, who finished 66th. Scheffler is now just $1,034,755 behind Woods.
