Scottie Scheffler won his second PGA Tour event of the 2026 season at the FedEx St. Jude Championship on Sunday.

Scheffler has enjoyed a wonderfully consistent season in 2026, and he has been the dominant player on the PGA Tour.

However, the fact that he had only won once this year before the event at TPC Southwind last week would have been grating on him behind the scenes.

Scottie Scheffler‘s win at the FedEx St. Jude Championship was a gentle reminder to everyone that the 30-year-old is still very much the dominant force in professional golf.

Scheffler’s runaway FedEx St. Jude victory was seriously impressive. He didn’t let up once after shooting an incredible round of 61 on Friday.

And it seems as though his rivals on the PGA Tour were just as much in awe of his brilliance as golf fans the world over were.

Ryan Fox reacts to Scottie Scheffler’s win at the FedEx St. Jude

Fox spoke to the media on Tuesday at Bellerive and responded when asked what he made of Scheffler’s runaway victory last week at TPC Southwind.

“The most impressive thing about Scottie is the consistency,“ Fox explained.

“I think there’s a couple things. Like, the consistency in results. Because I don’t think we have seen anyone that’s as consistent probably since Tiger. But the consistency of his iron shots.

“Like, I watched most of Sunday, and the recurring theme was he just always hits the shot that needs to be hit. Like there’s some hard shots coming down the stretch there. I know he had a big lead, but he just hit it, on 11, he hit it exactly where he needed to hit it.

“On 12 he did the same. Might have hit it in the rough, but he laid it up in a good place and then had an incredible up-and-down.

“On 14, that’s a tough hole, he hits it exactly where you need to hit it in the position that he was in. Like, there was just so much control over the golf ball that it’s, like he has big belief in that respect, to be honest.“

Viktor Hovland blown away by Scheffler’s consistency

Hovland was asked during his press conference on Monday what makes Scheffler so good.

“Well, he’s just so consistent. He hits the ball so well,“ the Norwegian responded.

“I think in 2023 he was maybe struggling, if you can use that word, on the greens. He seems to have rectified that problem. Now it seems like putting and the rest of the game, like it doesn’t have a weakness.

“I mean, last week, I feel like I was a little surprised to see the second place being, you know, 9-under I think it ended up being. So no one really pushed him either last week, but for him to go out there and shoot 17-under, I mean that’s, yeah, very impressive. That’s just kind of how he’s been playing the last few years.

“It’s really cool to watch. But I would really like to get some of my form back from 2023, so could at least make it a little bit more interesting.“
