Ohio's representatives in the Little League World Series are getting well-deserved recognition. Hamilton West Side Little League will be honored with a parade on Monday, Sept. 7. The parade is set to begin at 6 p.m. with a route that runs from the team's Little League facilities on Eaton Avenue to Marcum Park. There will also be a short presentation at Marcum Park once the team arrives at about 6:30 p.m. "We're inviting Hamiltonians and WSLL fans alike to line the route or gather at the HUB, Armstead Park, the bridge, the courthouse, Rotary Park or Marcum Park," the city of Hamilton said on social media. The full parade route runs from Eaton Avenue to Main Street, across the bridge to North Second Street, then to Dayton Street and Marcum Park. The festivities will conclude by 7 or 7:30 p.m.
Additionally, Badin High School football will recognize the Little Leaguers during a home game against La Salle on Friday, Sept. 18. West Side will be celebrated during halftime. Hamilton West Side completed a record sixth-trip to the Little League World Series on Aug. 30, matching their best-ever finish with a trip to the U.S. Finals. The champions of Ohio and the Great Lakes Region won five elimination games in a row to finish second in the United States, then fell on a walk-off to Japan in the third place game.
