Another Roseville basketball star is headed West.

Roseville junior forward Carter George, ranked as the top recruit in Michigan's 2028 class, is transferring to CIA Bella Vista Prep, located in Arizona, according to multiple people with knowledge of the move. George is also listed as a member of Bella Vista Prep on the 247Sports recruiting website.

He is transferring to the prep academy alongside former Roseville sophomore Jordan McDaniel, who announced his transfer on Wednesday, Aug. 12.

George and McDaniel will be an infusion of talent for Bella Vista Prep, which plays in the national Nike Elite Youth Basketball League (EYBL) Scholastic division. Bella Vista Prep won the 2026 Chipotle National Championship over Montverde Academy and features three high-profile senior recruits. The two former Roseville players are ranked as the top Michigan players in their respective recruiting classes.

Roseville’s Carter George (1) fights for the rebound against Auburn Hills Avondale’s Jakobe Liford (5) during the first half of the MHSAA Division 1 quarterfinals at Calihan Hall in Detroit, Tuesday, March 10, 2026.

As a sophomore, George earned first-team Free Press All-East honors for his standout play for the Panthers, who reached the Division 1 quarterfinals. The 6-foot-7 forward averaged 12.2 points, 9.3 rebounds and 4.6 blocks per game and had standout performances in big games, including against No. 1 East Lansing in a holiday showcase at Oak Park High School. George trains as a guard, which he plans to play at the next level.

George declined an interview when contacted by the Free Press.

New Haven's Kayden Harmon heads to Florida

George is not the only prominent Macomb County forward who will be leaving Michigan for the 2026-27 high school basketball season.

On Wednesday, New Haven rising junior Kayden Harmon announced he will be transferring to Prolific Prep, another Nike EYBL school located in Florida. As a sophomore, Harmon earned second-team All-State honors in Division 3 after averaging 17.8 points, 10.3 rebounds, 3.5 blocks and two assists per game.
