Ronald Acuña Jr. added another historic achievement to a career already filled with them Wednesday.
The Atlanta Braves superstar blasted a three-run home run to become the fastest player in Major League Baseball history to record 200 career homers and 200 stolen bases, highlighting Atlanta’s 9-0 victory over the Washington Nationals.
Acuña reached the milestone in just his 904th career game, surpassing the previous mark established by Alfonso Soriano, who needed 929 games. Coincidentally, Soriano reached the milestone in August 2006 as a member of the Nationals while playing against Atlanta.
Acuña’s historic moment came in the seventh inning when he launched his 14th homer of the season to left-center field, extending Atlanta’s advantage to 6-0.

But Acuña had already added to his stolen-base total an inning earlier.
After opening the sixth with a single against Washington starter Riley Cornelio, Acuña stole second base for his 20th steal of the season and 225th of his career.
That inning eventually provided Atlanta with the breakthrough it needed.
Cornelio struck out the next two hitters before intentionally walking Michael Harris II. Sean Murphy then made Washington pay, crushing a three-run homer to left field and giving the Braves a 3-0 advantage.
It was Murphy’s third home run in five games as the Atlanta catcher continued his recent surge at the plate.
Before the Braves’ offense came alive, Wednesday’s game had been interrupted by a 1-hour, 25-minute rain delay in the fourth inning.
Atlanta didn’t allow the interruption to slow its momentum.
Once play resumed, the Braves eventually broke through and turned a scoreless game into a comfortable victory.
Acuña’s milestone provided the defining moment.
Already one of baseball’s most dynamic power-speed threats, Acuña now owns another MLB record demonstrating the rare combination he brings to Atlanta’s lineup.
