Atlanta Braves right fielder Ronald Acuna Jr. reached a historic milestone Wednesday afternoon on the road against the Washington Nationals. He became the fastest player in MLB history to hit the 200 home run and 200 stolen base mark in the same career.
Acuna reached the milestone in just 904 career games, surpassing the previous record held by Alfonso Soriano, who accomplished the feat in 929 games. Eric Davis and Bobby Bonds also previously held the mark at over 1,000 games each.

This year, the 28-year-old has posted a .243 batting average, .345 on-base percentage and .761 OPS with 14 home runs, 39 RBIs and 20 stolen bases across 87 games.
He has dealt with injuries throughout the 2026 season but has been productive when available, and Wednesday’s milestone is a reminder of just how special a talent he is on a per-game basis.
Acuna’s historic 2023 NL MVP season set the foundation for this moment. That year he became the first player in MLB history to post 40 home runs and 70 stolen bases in the same season, finishing with 41 homers, 73 steals and a .337 batting average en route to unanimous MVP honors.
With the Braves sitting at 83-57 now and holding onto a small lead over the Philadelphia Phillies in the NL East, Acuna will look to carry this momentum into October and help Atlanta make a deep postseason run.
