Truro City are unbeaten, and have yet to concede a goal, so far this season [Shutterstock] Truro City boss John Askey has praised his side's defensive strength in their 0-0 draw at Chelmsford City in National League South. The hosts went close in the first period through a Lyle Taylor free kick while Tyler Harvey had to head a corner off the Truro line. Both sides had half chances to score after the break, but Askey was pleased to be taking a point away from Essex after last week's 2-0 win over Maidenhead United: "I don't think there was much in the game at all, and they're obviously a very strong team, there's some quality players for this level," he told BBC Radio Cornwall. "So to put a performance in as we did, I'm really pleased, it's probably in some ways a better performance than last Saturday "Teams will come here and they won't get much, so to come away with a point I suppose we've got to be happy." His side's second clean sheet in as many games pleased Askey, having seen Truro keep just eight all last season as they were relegated from the National League. "We've worked quite hard pre-season defensively and it takes everybody to do that, like Tyler when he cleared that header off the line, things like that get you points," he added. "We've just got to keep doing what we're doing, keep working hard and hopefully the goals will start going in because we did make one or two chances and on another day we might have put one in the net."
