Nicolo Tresoldi Transfer Latest as Manchester United Track Club Brugge Striker

Manchester United are among the clubs closely monitoring Nicolo Tresoldi as the Club Brugge striker emerges as one of the more intriguing late-window opportunities in the market. According to Caught Offside, the 21-year-old is “firmly on the radar of Manchester United, Chelsea, Tottenham, and Barcelona this summer”, with the race now gathering pace.

There is a sense across the market that reliable centre-forward options have become increasingly difficult to secure, both in terms of availability and valuation. Against that backdrop, Tresoldi has started to appeal more strongly. As reported, “in what has been a difficult market for attacking players this summer, we could see this exciting young goal-scorer attracting growing interest towards the end of the window”.

That timing is important. Clubs who missed on priority targets, or who now need to react to departures, are turning towards younger profiles with room to develop. Tresoldi appears to fit that bracket neatly, particularly given his reputation and his age. He has previously been linked with Arsenal, and the player has even been “described as the future of the German national team after a prolific record at youth level”.

Manchester United Interest in Tresoldi

For Manchester United, the situation appears linked to wider movement in the striker department. The report states that “Chelsea, Man Utd, and Spurs are increasingly turning to Tresoldi as a good option up front this summer”, which suggests he is being viewed as a credible alternative rather than a speculative name.

United’s thinking, as outlined in the report, is that Tresoldi “could make sense for United as they look for competition for Benjamin Sesko”. There is, however, a clear caveat. “One complication there, however, is that any deal could also hinge on what happens with Joshua Zirkzee, with MUFC aiming to offload the Dutch forward in the coming weeks.” That gives this story a familiar shape, with incoming plans potentially dependent on exits first.

The valuation is another notable point. With striking fees having climbed sharply, Tresoldi is considered attainable by current standards. The report says his asking price would “most likely be in the region of €45-50m”. Roma are already understood to have tested Brugge’s stance, yet “submitted a €35m bid, but it wasn’t enough”, underlining that the Belgian club are in no rush to compromise.

Barcelona Enter Frame Strongly

While Premier League interest is substantial, Barcelona may be moving with the greatest intent. There is said to be “some early indication” that the Spanish side are leading the race, with multiple sources claiming they are “accelerating” their interest.

That development matters because Barcelona have their own attacking reshuffle to complete. The report indicates that Julian Alvarez had been explored, but Atletico Madrid are unwilling to deal, leaving Tresoldi as a realistic alternative. In that context, he is framed as “a decent low-cost option” for a club still trying to balance ambition with financial discipline.

For now, this feels finely poised. Brugge know they hold a valuable asset, several elite clubs are engaged, and the final days of the window could yet sharpen the picture quickly.

Our View

From a Manchester United fan perspective, this is the kind of report that sparks interest without fully convincing everyone straight away. Tresoldi sounds talented, the age profile makes sense, and a fee of €45-50m in this market could end up looking reasonable if the recruitment team truly believe in his ceiling. Still, supporters will naturally ask whether United are targeting a future project or a forward ready to impact immediately.

If the club are genuinely building around Benjamin Sesko and looking for competition rather than a guaranteed starter, then Tresoldi becomes easier to understand. The bigger issue is the line about Joshua Zirkzee. United fans have seen too many windows where one move depends on another, and that often slows everything down. If an exit is required before progress can be made, there will be concern about timing.

There is also the Barcelona factor. When a club of that stature are “accelerating” interest, it can change both the pace and the price of a deal. United supporters will want clarity on whether Tresoldi is a serious target or simply one of several names under discussion. On paper, he looks like a smart, modern option. In practice, fans will judge this one on whether the club move decisively, and whether the player is seen as part of a clear attacking plan rather than another market opportunity that drifts by.
