Reigning FPHL Goaltender of the Year Tmej returns to Binghamton

BINGHAMTON, N.Y. (WIVT/WBGH) - The Binghamton Black Bears are bringing back their star goaltender for another season.

The team announced that Dominik Tmej, the reigning Federal Prospects Hockey League Goaltender of the Year, has agreed to return for the 2026-27 season. Tmej becomes the seventh player from last season’s roster to re-sign with Binghamton ahead of training camp.

Tmej put together a dominant rookie campaign, finishing first in the FPHL in wins, save percentage, goals-against average, and shutouts.

He went 28-2-1 on the season with a 1.83 goals-against average, a .932 save percentage, adding on seven shutouts. His seven shutouts established a new regular-season franchise record, while he was the only goaltender in the league to finish with a goals-against average below two.

Tmej also recorded a 14-game winning streak during the regular season and posted three consecutive shutouts against three different opponents.

He continued his strong play in the postseason, going 7-2 in nine playoff appearances to help the Black Bears capture their third consecutive Commissioner's Cup.
