
It has been an , and the wide receiver made a confession about the impact alcohol has had on him.
Speaking to Netflix’s Elle Duncan (via ESPN) before the Rams’ game against the San Francisco 49ers in Australia, he that led him to earlier in the year.
He was dealing with a lot off the field, including co-parenting his son. In turn, he tried to find “different ways to escape from that tension, that stress.” This led him to lean on alcohol.

“I think one, alcohol was definitely a thing for me. Just kind of drowning myself so that the issues and the stress that I was feeling never had the opportunity to be addressed,” he candidly admitted.
Luckily, he appears to be in a better place now after going to rehab. He still faces a potential punishment from the NFL, but he is looking ahead after facing the “darkest times I’ve had in my life.”
“I’m looking forward most to becoming a person that I think my son will be proud of … and as my son gets older, I can share some of the things that I’ve learned from the mistakes I’ve made.”
Rams WR ’s offseason controversies

While he may be disciplined by the NFL this season, he played in Week 1 against the 49ers. Nacua led the Rams in targets (nine), receptions (five), and receiving yards (74). However, he failed to score a touchdown.
It was not a pretty night for the Rams’ offense. Reigning NFL MVP Matthew Stafford only threw for 155 yards and had an interception. The Rams lost 27-7.
