Las Vegas signed linebacker Segun Olubi on Monday following the NFL preseason. In a corresponding move, the Raiders placed wide receiver Dont'e Thornton Jr. on the reserve/injured list.
Thornton Jr. is in his second season with Las Vegas. He was selected by the Raiders in the fourth round of the NFL draft in 2025 (No. 108 overall).
The 6-foot-5, 205-pound wide receiver totaled 10 receptions for 135 yards as a rookie in 2025. He averaged 13.5 yards per reception.
Thornton Jr. played at Tennessee from 2023-24 after transferring from Oregon. He appeared in 22 games, including seven starts, with the Vols.
At Tennessee, Thornton Jr. totaled 39 receptions, 885 receiving yards and seven receiving touchdowns with the Vols. Thornton Jr.'s longest reception was 86 yards at Vanderbilt on Nov. 30, 2024.
He appeared in 25 games at Oregon from 2021-22. Thornton Jr. recorded 26 receptions, 541 receiving yards and three receiving touchdowns, while totaling six rushing yards on two attempts.
