The New York Giants' offensive line has made some major strides in the past few years, but not enough for some analysts in the media to move the needle much. In a recent list by Pro Football Focus' Gordon McGuinness ranking the NFL's 32 offensive lines, the Giants were ranked 23rd heading into this season.
Andrew Thomas was arguably the Giants’ best player last year, earning a 90.3 PFF grade that tied his career high. His issue has been staying healthy, having missed significant time in both 2023 and 2024. They drafted Francis Mauigoa in the first round, and if he can hit the ground running, then the unit looks a lot stronger, but it’s a group that just might be another season away from making a bigger impact.
The Giants need Thomas to be healthy to realize their potential fully. He hasn't played a full season in his six years in the NFL. They re-signed Eluemunor to a three-year extension, which was well-deserved, and drafted Mauigoa 10th overall, who could end up being a massive upgrade, even though he's a natural tackle. Runyan is in the final year of his three-year deal and is entering the year healthy, something he's rarely been in his first two seasons here. The Giants attempted to replace Schmitz this offseason, but fell short in their efforts. The line is better overall this season because of the depth with players such as Marcus Mbow, rookie J.C.
