The Catalan is stepping away from the game after a decade at the Etihad, stating upon his exit that it was time to prioritize his personal life. Guardiola will have no shortage of offers to lure him back into football, with the Italy national team having been hopeful of securing his services this summer. However, the 55-year-old declined that opportunity and sat down for an interview for a new Amazon documentary releasing this week, which suggested it could be a considerable amount of time before he occupies a dugout once more, as per the Manchester Evening News.

My feeling today is it will be difficult to come back. "I need to refresh many things in my personal life. And professional, what I've found, I need to find myself a little bit in different thing. City have moved forward with the hiring of Enzo Maresca, one of Guardiola's backroom staff during the Treble-winning campaign, who has since carved out his own success at Leicester City and Chelsea.
