WACO, Texas (FOX 44) -- No. 20 Baylor volleyball is carrying a perfect start into its home opener. The Bears opened the season 3-0 at the Hawaiian Airlines Wahine Volleyball Classic, sweeping San Diego, Hawaii and Georgia Southern. Now, Baylor returns home looking to build on that momentum against North Texas and No. 17 Florida. Baylor coach Ryan McGuyre said the opening weekend showed the competitiveness of his young team. "We got a team full of competitors that are really ready to fight. So there's there's a good competitive maturity to this team." But McGuyre said the Bears still have room to improve, particularly on offense. "I think the next part is, yeah, we got to just execute better on on all fronts." Baylor's blocking also stood out during the tournament, something McGuyre said the team will need to maintain this week. "Our block came up well for us, night two and in the Hawaii match offensively day three, we were doing things much, much better."
