Newcastle Completes Deadline-Day Deal for Exit of Highly Rated Teenager

Chronicle Live’s Sean McCormick <a href="https://cominghomenewcastle.sbnation.com/newcastle-united-transfer-news-rumors/25514/newcastle-set-to-make-deadline-day-decisions-on-five-promising-youngsters-report">identified</a> Neave as a particularly strong candidate, reporting that the teenager had attracted significant interest ahead of the deadline.</p><p class="wp-block-paragraph">“Sean Neave has plenty of interest and the teenage forward has outgrown under-21s football,” McCormick reported. “He is a prime candidate to move elsewhere today.”</p><p class="wp-block-paragraph">Neave’s academy numbers support that assessment, with the striker scoring 16 goals and supplying two assists in 26 appearances last season, performances that attracted attention from Wolves scouts. He made his first-team debut as a late substitute in the 6-1 Champions League victory against Qarabag before making his Premier League debut against Fulham on the final day of last season.</p><p class="wp-block-paragraph">Regular opportunities were nevertheless going to be difficult to find under Jaissle this year, even after Nick Woltemade’s exit on loan to Juventus.</p><p class="wp-block-paragraph">Yoane Wissa has started the season impressively, while William Osula remains part of the first-team picture despite his current foot injury. Newcastle also completed the €60 million-plus (£51.4 million) signing of Matias Fernandez-Pardo, who can operate through the middle and the left wing.</p><p class="wp-block-paragraph">Championship side Wolves should provide a good developing environment for Neave at an intermediate level between the youth ranks and the EPL, while the move will also reunite Neave with former Newcastle teammate Kieran Trippier following the veteran’s summer switch to Molineux.</p><p class="wp-block-paragraph">Is Wolves the right destination for Neave, and could a Championship loan put him into Jaissle’s first-team plans next season?
