N. Ponmani assumed charge as Commissioner of Tiruchi City Corporation on Friday, replacing Veer Pratap Singh, who has been transferred.
Published - September 11, 2026 06:30 pm ISTMs. Ponmani was previously Additional Commissioner, Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments, Tiruchi, a recently created post. A 2021-batch IAS officer, Ms. Ponmani is an alumna of the National Institute of Technology, Tiruchi.
On assuming charge, Ms. Ponmani said she would accord priority for improving basic amenities and redress citizens’ grievances.
