The New York Giants are signing four-time 1,000-yard rusher Najee Harris to bolster their running back room. The news was first reported by Ian Rapoport and Mike Garafolo, and has been confirmed by a source within the Giants.

Harris, a 2021 first-round draft pick by the Pittsburgh Steelers, rushed for more than 1,000 yards in each of his four seasons with the Steelers.

He signed with the Los Angeles Chargers as a free agent in 2025, but played just three games before tearing an Achilles tendon.

Harris, 28, worked out for the Giants on Monday.

Giants coach John Harbaugh had plenty of experience against Harris from his time with the Baltimore Ravens. The Giants’ interest in Harris had been rumored since early in the offseason.

“He looks good in the workout. He’s not back 100%. He’s not in football shape yet,” Harbaugh said on Monday. “It’ll be a process. But that would be a guy that has got a lot of experience. He’s a decorated vet. And with those guys, generally, you just have to kind of see where they’re at when you get them. And sometimes it works out great. Sometimes it’s just okay, and other times it doesn’t work out. But based on the workout, I would say we feel like he’s got a shot. ”
