Multiple College Coaches View Florida as Obvious Best Team in America

Heading into next college basketball season, Florida continues to get a lot of praise for what it can do on both ends of the floor.  There's a reason many consider Florida the best team in America, which leads to some fair thoughts that if it doesn't win a national title, the season would be viewed as a ginormous disappointment. I'm somewhere in the middle. I understand that in this NIL era, with Florida having the retention it did and spending the money it has on its roster, winning has to come before anything else.  At the end of the day, Florida is expected to win, and win a lot. Anything less than an SEC title and a chance to win a national championship would be viewed as a disappointment. I don't really know if that's fair to the players, but that is the reality of what college sports have become. According to other coaches, however, when speaking anonymously to CBS recently, many don't think there's much chance Florida isn't the best team in the country. One coach even went as far as to say that Florida will be stupid good next year. "I think there's no excuse for Florida to not sit at No. 1 most of the year. 80% of scoring back with three true frontcourt monsters that probably eclipse most teams' total salaries by themselves.” "My heart wants to say Tennessee because coach Barnes is due a Final Four run, but my brain says Florida can and will probably be stupid-good this year. Like, 30-plus-win good and back to the championship game. Too many guys who have been there before and a coaching staff that knows what their coach wants and needs! How many programs at that level can say that? And have the horses?" So many factors will make Florida as good as it should be. Without even factoring in the players it's bringing back, having guys like Todd Golden and the players it added in the transfer portal is flat-out ridiculous. Florida is really, really, really good and will be viewed as the team to beat.  Other impressive teams and a lot of other programs are spending just as much, if not more, money, so there's no guarantee about anything, but there's a lot to like about this roster.
