After hammering Kilmarnock 5-1 at Rugby Park on Sunday (August 9), Celtic are on the road again this weekend, with a trip to Tannadice in League Cup action on the cards for Martin O’Neill’s men (Saturday, August 15, KO 5.45pm).

That emphatic victory in Ayrshire saw Kasper Høgh announce himself as a Celtic player with an impressive first-half hat-trick which put the game beyond doubt before half time.

And this week, two new recruits have joined the ranks of Martin O’Neill’s side, with Egyptian winger Haissem Hassan and German midfielder Mika Baur putting pen to paper on deals with the Celts over the last few days.

Both men will be eager to make a positive impact straight away in the green and white, and, speaking to the media for the first time at Lennoxtown this afternoon, Mika Baur said that he is delighted to be a Celtic player as he gave supporters an idea of what they can expect from him on the pitch.

“I’m really happy to be here and looking forward to the season now.” Baur said. “I was in full training in pre-season with Paderborn, so I’m in good shape.

“I think it’s the best next step (joining Celtic). It’s a great club, it’s a big club. You play in front of a big crowd, dominate the league and have big European nights on the big stage.

“I want to show people and also show myself that I’m ready for that (playing at the top level). I think this is the right move.

‘I run a lot, I’m fighting, but I want to be a playmaker. I want the ball at my feet.’

“I’m good with the ball and I developed myself and my game against the ball last season.

“That’s what they (the fans) can expect from me, that I try my best and leave my heart on the field every time.”
