The No. 7 to the FAMU Rattlers after overwhelming them throughout the course of the 77-7 blowout win on Thursday night.
Miami has high expectations this season following their remarkable tournament run in the 2025 campaign. They got to the national championship game before losing to Indiana, setting a winning standard they wish to achieve this time around.
The Hurricanes have been on fire to start the year, scoring 122 total points after two games. This includes 77 points against FAMU, scoring all of them in the first three quarters. The contest was so overwhelming for the Rattlers that both teams to 10 minutes.

How Miami played against FAMU
Darian Mensah and the No. 7 Miami Hurricanes easily outmatched FAMU, improving to 2-0 after winning 77-7 over the Rattlers.Miami did all of its damage in the first three quarters, going scoreless in the fourth period. They torched FAMU with 21 points in the opening quarter, then produced 28 points each in the second and third periods.
The contest wasn’t even close, especially in the yardage department. Miami recorded ridiculous numbers of 426 receiving yards and 420 rushing yards. On the other hand, FAMU only managed 70 receiving yards and 37 rushing yards. The Rattlers’ lone touchdown happened in the fourth quarter when they recovered a fumble and returned it to the end zone for the touchdown.
Backup quarterback Luke Nickel enjoyed his time on the field, completing all eight of his passes for 144 yards and three touchdowns. Javian Mallory and Mark Fletcher Jr. combined for 247 yards and four touchdowns, while six different players caught touchdown passes in the receiving game.
The No. 7 Hurricanes will look forward to their next matchup, being on the road. They gear up for conference action against the Wake Forest Demon Deacons as kickoff takes place on Sept. 18.
