Matos 'really happy' with options after busy window

[Huw Evans Picture Agency] Vitor Matos has declared himself "really happy" with Swansea City's transfer business after the Welsh side rounded off a busy summer window by signing Jeremy Monga. Manchester City teenager Monga's loan move was confirmed on Wednesday morning but had been finalised before Tuesday's transfer deadline. The winger became Swansea's 10th new addition since the end of last season, with Stephen Welsh, Tom Iorpenda, Stephen Eustaquio, Elijah Just, Moussa Yeo, Joseph Opoku and Ross Stewart arriving on permanent deals and Tiago Parente and Jensen Seelt joining on loan. Zan Vipotnik, Swansea's 25-goal leading scorer last season, remains at the club, although Matos stressed after Tuesday's win over Watford that some overseas transfer windows remain open. The biggest transfer setback of the summer for the Swans was Ethan Galbraith's departure for Stoke, while a late push to sign another defender came to nothing. Nevertheless, Matos says he is happy with the squad at his disposal as the focus turns to Saturday's Welsh derby against Wrexham. "I think the club made a lot of effort regarding the profile of players we identified we needed, the character and the personality of the players," the Swansea head coach said. "I think we needed to build the squad around the characters that we had here, but mix it up with experience, with talent, and at the same time with the right mindset in terms of values. That's what we were able to do. "Now it's about having these players make this a proper team in terms of togetherness, which is already on the way. It is about taking care because these things are like taking care of a plant, no? It grows, it's beautiful, but you still need to take care."
