The Kentucky Wildcats wrapped up their roster for the 2026-27 season on Saturday night as they landed a commitment from Missouri transfer forward, Mark Mitchell.
Seen as a UK lean for a while if the legal process for a fifth year worked out, Mitchell made it official and will be heading to Lexington for his final season.
Now, what message does he have for the BBN? One that will likely get the fanbase ready to see the team take the court on October 2nd at Big Blue Madness.
Jack Pilgrim of KSR spoke with Brandon Mitchell (Mark’s brother and agent) and had this message about what his brother will bring to Lexington:
“Well, first of all, I want to give glory to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. That’s honestly just kind of how we move. I have a lot of love for Him for guiding my brother, just since he was young and all the way up until this point, but the BBN fanbase is about to get a young man who is selfless, team-first,” Mitchell said.
“He’s going to run through a wall for you. Humble. He doesn’t cheat the game; he loves the game. He loves his environment, loves his community. He’s someone who you can just expect to give it his all when he hits the floor, give it his all to prepare for games, to prepare for battle.
“To come out there and just do his best to, not only to make his teammates happy or his coaching staff happy, but to make Big Blue Nation happy.”
Mitchell puts this roster in a much better spot as Mark Pope looks to make some noise in year three. This addition takes what looked like a second-weekend team to a potential Final Four roster.
Only a few more weeks, folks. Will be fun to watch.
