Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid spoke with reporters after practice on Thursday at Missouri Western State University. He revealed rookie defensive back Mansoor Delane's progress at practice, finally dropping the yellow 'no contact' jersey for the day. "It was a 10-10-10 period, so it was non-contact," said Reid. "Guys that might have been in a yellow jersey weren't in yellow jerseys today." The 10-10-10 period is when the team works on 10 offensive plays, 10 defensive plays, and 10 minutes of special teams work. A shorter period than the common practice session as the Chiefs prepare to host the Los Angeles Rams on Saturday in the preseason opener.

The Chiefs aren’t in pads today, but some good news regardless: Mansoor Delane is no longer in the gold, “no contact” jersey. pic.twitter.com/iFTng8CUyD — Matt McMullen (@KCChiefs_Matt) August 13, 2026 Delane continues to recover from suffering a shoulder blade injury during OTAs. He hasn't experienced any limitations but has been handled with caution by the coaching staff, with the goal of patience until he's fully cleared. In his last season at LSU, the sixth overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft earned First Team All-SEC honors and was a unanimous All-American selection. He was a finalist for the Jim Thorpe Award as the nation's top defensive back. This article originally appeared on Chiefs Wire: Mansoor Delane shows progress with noticeable change at practice
