The want to win, and this fanbase is hungry for some victories after last season's 4-13 finish. One way to help the case is having wide receiver Malik Nabers healthy and ready to go for the team's first game of the season.

The Giants open their season on Sunday against the , so this isn't just any season opener. This is two teams who pretty much hate each other, at least in a rivalry way, going at it to get the first win of the regular season.

Nabers suffered a season-ending torn ACL and meniscus injury in September 2025 against the . So, will he be back on Sunday to open the Giants' season?

Malik Nabers isn't sure if he'll be ready for Week 1

On Thursday, Nabers offered up an injury update, but it was more of a non-update, because he didn't say anything that should make New York any less nervous.

He added, "Making a split decision on when do I think I'm able to go out there and perform rather than just going out there -- I think the coaches know that, I know that I have a lot more football to play. So just being conscious of making sure I'm at the right standpoint of going back out there. "

So, Nabers is playing it safe, and that's likely the right decision for his long-term health and the goal of the Giants. But, it would still really help New York to get him on the field sooner rather than later.
