HIGH POINT – Wesleyan Christian raced past rival High Point Christian 6-1 in PTAC boys soccer Tuesday at West End Park.
Ty Larson had four goals and an assist to lead the Trojans, who led 3-0 at halftime. Sam Souza also scored a goal, while Brayden McGee had two assists and Kwasi Asenso had one.
Sam Lester and Carter Javier shared time in goal.
Wesleyan improved to 7-2 overall and 3-0 in the conference, while the Cougars moved to 3-4 and 0-2.

HIGH POINT – TW Andrews lost 9-2 against Dudley in nonconference boys soccer Tuesday at Correll-Morris Field.
The Red Raiders opened their season 0-1.

HIGH POINT – Oak Grove edged Southwest Guilford 4-3 in nonconference boys soccer Tuesday at Southwest.
The Grizzlies improved to 3-3 overall, while the Cowboys dipped to 3-5.
WESTCHESTER COUNTRY DAY, BURLINGTON CHRISTIAN
BURLINGTON – Westchester Country Day surged past Burlington Christian 2-1 in overtime Tuesday in PTAC boys soccer at Burlington Christian.
Eduardo Juarez Garcia scored off an assist by Miles Glover in the opening minute of overtime for the Wildcats (5-0 overall, 1-0 conference), who rallied in the final minute of regulation to even the match after trailing with 10 minutes.
Whit Hauser also scored, while Preston Kendrick earned the win in goal.
RAGSDALE, TRINITY
JAMESTOWN – Ragsdale beat Trinity 7-1 in nonconference boys soccer Tuesday at Ragsdale.
The Tigers improved to 4-2 while the Bulldogs dipped to 3-2.

THOMASVILLE – Thomasville topped rival Lexington 4-1 in nonconference boys soccer Tuesday at Thomasville.
Carlos Ponicano Diaz had three goals and an assist for the Bulldogs (4-0). David Mejia also scored a goal, while Eddy Hernandez-Ramirez had an assist. Oscar Ortiz (four saves) and A Jan (one save) shared time in goal.

HIGH POINT – Wesleyan Christian swept past rival High Point Christian 25-13, 25-12, 25-7 in PTAC girls volleyball Tuesday at HPCA.
Nejari Crooks had 12 kills, 16 assists eight digs for the Trojans (5-1 overall, 2-0 conference). Elle Gardner added 11 kills and six digs, while Ryleigh Lennon had eight kills and four blocks and Ella Kate Johnson had six aces and six digs.
Bella Breeback had four kills and four digs for the Cougars (5-7, 0-2). Reese Harris had two blocks, Landyn Smith had eight digs, and Kinslee Britton had eight assists.

McLEANSVILLE – TW Andrews outlasted Northeast Guilford 22-25, 27-25, 17-25, 25-19, 15-9 in nonconference girls volleyball Tuesday at Northeast.

HIGH POINT – Southwest Guilford rolled past Western Guilford 25-9, 25-8, 25-10 in Metro 6A/7A Conference girls volleyball Tuesday at Southwest.
Neala Bateson had eight kills and four digs for the Cowgirls (11-2 overall, 3-0 conference). Marianna Mikfeldt added six kills, while Isabelle Tran and Trystan Harris each had five aces. Harris also had five digs. Riley Honeycutt had 13 assists.

BURLINGTON – Westchester Country Day defeated Burlington Christian 3-1 in PTAC girls volleyball Tuesday at Burlington Christian.
Emory Smith had 10 kills, 17 digs, three aces and two blocks for the Wildcats (3-2 overall, 1-0 conference). Emma Hunsberger added five kills, 13 digs, 12 assists and two aces. Isabella Mills chipped in 10 assists, two kills and a dig, while Evans Elliott had two kills and 15 digs.

MIDWAY – Oak Grove held off Davie County 19-25, 25-22, 21-25, 25-22, 18-16 in nonconference girls volleyball Tuesday at Oak Grove.
Sydney Williams had 15 kills for the Grizzlies (8-0). Ashlyn Lemley and Bella Young added 11 kills, while Hailey Ray had nine kills. Emma High had 30 assists, Ava Wustner had 10 digs and Young had five blocks.

Lucy Picha (8-2), Lily Hambright (8-3), Sophie Mueller (8-2) and Christelle Pekala (8-2) won in singles for the Trojans. Lucy Picha/Madeline Picha (8-6), Madison Foust/Hambright (8-4) and Mueller/Carly Hurst (8-4) won in doubles.
Natalie Mays (8-2) and Bella Dill (8-1) won in singles for the Cougars.
Wesleyan improved to 2-1 overall and 2-0 in the conference, while HPCA moved to 0-3 and 0-2.

Evelyn McKnight (6-0, 6-0) and Samika Dash (6-2, 6-0) won in singles for the Cowgirls (4-5).

THOMASVILLE – East Davidson beat crosstown rival Ledford 141-166 in nonconference girls golf Tuesday at Winding Creek Golf Course.
Kaley Pham shot a 43 to lead the Golden Eagles, followed by McKenna Rust (46) and Emery Hill (52). Bailey Cooke shot a 52 for the Panthers (52), trailed by Joslyn McClelland (56) and Addy Hill (58).

MEN'S GOLF TAKES SECOND IN AUGUSTA
AUGUSTA, Ga. – High Point University opened its men's golf season with a second-place finish in the Augusta Jaguar Fall Invitational at Forest Hills Golf Club.
Augusta won with a team score of 286-273-282–841, while the Panthers were second in the 10-team field with a 278-284-290–852.
Jace Duckworth led High Point with a 71-67-71–209 to take third place as Augusta's Chapman (68-69-70) and Pieter Rossouw (70-67-70) tied for medalist at 207.
James Hassell (T4th, 67-71-74–212) and Tommy Evans (T12th, 70-72-72–214) also finished in the top 20.
ROCKERS WIN IN EXTRAS AT GASTONIA
GASTONIA – The High Point Rockers won 12-9 in 11 innings Wednesday in Atlantic League baseball against the Gastonia Ghost Peppers in Gastonia.
Luke Napleton had three hits – including two home runs – and four RBIs to lead the Rockers, who scored three runs in the 11th to lead for good. Ryan McCarthy added two hits, including a home run, and four RBIs, while Ivan Melendez, who homered, and Aidan Brewer each had two hits and an RBI.
High Point led 6-1 in the middle of the fourth but allowed four in the bottom of the fourth and four more in the seventh to trail 9-7. But it scored two in the ninth to force extra innings.
Kyle Halbohn earned the pitching win, while Ryan Chasse picked up the save.
The Rockers also lost 5-1 on Tuesday, allowing the final four runs over the sixth through eighth innings. Napleton had two hits, including a home run, and an RBI. Jayden Voelker took the loss in two-thirds of an inning.
High Point (50-66 overall, 21-32 second half) will continue its series at Gastonia through the weekend. Next week, it will host Charleston for three games and Gastonia for three games to end the season.
