GREENSBORO – Wesleyan Christian shut out Southwest Guilford 7-0 in the Beyond Sports Fusion boys' soccer showcase Thursday at Bryan Park. Ty Larson scored four goals, while Sam Souza, Luke Little and Finley Rosser each scored one for the Trojans. Anthony Penaloza, Kaleb Lambeth, Clyde Bryant, Rylan Moody and Kiser each had an assist. The Spartans scored the lone goal of the match on a high shot in the 35th minute. UNCG finished with a 17-13 edge in shots (6-4 on goal), while the Panthers held a 7-6 advantage in corner kicks. Kylee Williams (two saves) and Nylah Mirshafiei (three saves) split time in goal. HIGH POINT ROCKERSEARLY OUTBURST KEYS WIN HIGH POINT – The High Point Rockers scored the first five runs of the game – including three over the first two innings – in beating the Gastonia Ghost Peppers 5-3 in Atlantic League baseball Thursday at Truist Point.
