Juventus Plot Alisson Move as Zion Suzuki Loan Emerges in Two-Step Goalkeeper Plan

Juventus are shaping a clear strategy in the goalkeeper market, with Football Italia reporting on a two-part plan that begins with Zion Suzuki and could eventually lead to Alisson in 2027.

The immediate objective appears to be pragmatic. After missing out on a permanent deal for Suzuki, and with Paris Saint-Germain having won the race to sign the Japan international from Parma, Juventus are now assessing a one-year loan. That would give the Turin club a reliable short-term option while preserving flexibility for a bigger move down the line.

The longer-term ambition is far more eye-catching. Juventus are understood to be tracking Alisson as a potential free transfer target in 2027, when his current Liverpool deal is due to expire. It is a scenario that makes sense from their perspective, particularly given Luciano Spalletti’s previous work with the Brazilian at Roma and the trust built during that period.

Alisson transfer plan gathers shape

From Juventus’ side, this is a logical piece of planning. Elite goalkeepers rarely become available without a major fee attached, so the prospect of landing Alisson at the end of his contract would be a significant market opportunity. It also explains why the club are willing to treat Suzuki as an interim answer rather than a definitive long-term appointment.

There are, however, several moving parts. Liverpool activated an extension that keeps Alisson tied down until 2027, and the club’s succession planning is already advanced with Giorgi Mamardashvili positioned as the longer-term heir. At the same time, Alisson has indicated he expects to see out his current agreement before making any decision on what comes next.

Zion Suzuki loan suits short-term need

That leaves Juventus in a waiting game. The Suzuki loan would serve an obvious purpose, buying time while maintaining competitiveness in the present. It also reflects a wider search in which Guglielmo Vicario and other names have featured as the club work through their options.

As things stand, this feels less like an imminent Alisson transfer and more like early groundwork for a deal Juventus would love to make. The outline is there, the connections are there, and the contractual timing could suit them. Whether it becomes a genuine opening will depend on Liverpool’s next steps and, ultimately, on Alisson’s own thinking closer to 2027.

Our View

From a Liverpool perspective, the reaction to this report is likely to be fairly calm. There is very little here that suggests an immediate threat, and supporters will probably see it as Juventus mapping out possibilities rather than advancing anything concrete. Alisson remains one of the elite goalkeepers in world football, so top clubs keeping an eye on his situation is hardly surprising.

The key point for Liverpool fans is the timeline. This is about 2027, not now. By then, the club would expect to have full clarity on its goalkeeping succession, especially with Mamardashvili already part of the long-term conversation. That planning matters, because replacing Alisson directly is close to impossible. What you do instead is prepare early, reduce risk and manage the transition carefully.

Supporters will also recognise that Juventus trying to sign a world-class player on a free transfer is smart business, but hope and execution are very different things. A lot can change in a year, never mind two. Form, injuries, contract talks and the player’s own family preferences will all shape the outcome.

If anything, this report underlines Alisson’s standing. Liverpool have had one of the best in the business for years, and rival clubs are already thinking several moves ahead in case a window opens. That says plenty on its own.
