Lions HC Dan Campbell won't delegate challenge flag despite new rule

Allen Park — The red challenge flag will remain with Detroit Lions coach Dan Campbell. Campbell, entering his sixth season with the Lions, was asked Sunday about a reported new rule that will allow head coaches to delegate the use of the challenge flag to a designated assistant on game days, and he assured he has no interest in taking the responsibility off his plate. "I'm not giving that flag up to anybody," Campbell said. "No way." His reasoning: "The buck stops with me anyway," Campbell explained. "I'm answering the questions, so why I would give it to somebody else for me to answer for somebody else? It all comes to me anyway. That's it."
