MOSS — Latta senior Kaiden Goolsby pitched five shutout innings, and the Panthers erupted for nine runs in the sixth to pull away for a 10-1 victory over Moss in a Monday night road game.

Latta evened its record at 2-2 after a pair of tough outings at the Dale Tournament over the weekend, while Moss slipped to 3-2.

The Panthers will battle local rival Byng at 2:30 p.m. Thursday in the first round of the 2026 Tupelo Baseball Tournament.

Latta 10, Moss 1

It was anybody’s ballgame through five innings, with Latta clinging to a 1-0 lead.

That changed quickly in the top of the sixth, when the Panthers erupted for nine runs to pull away.

Eight different Latta players had at least one hit.

Kane Dildine went 2-for-3 with a double, a walk and an RBI, while Braxtyn Lee also had two hits, drove in a run and scored.

Christian Wolfe went 1-for-3 with a walk, a double, two RBIs and two runs scored from the top of the Latta lineup. Johnathan Gray also doubled and drove in two runs.

Kailber Alexander doubled, drove in a run and scored once.

Easton Smith led Moss at the plate with a 3-for-3 effort that included a solo home run to lead off the bottom of the sixth, spoiling the shutout. Gauge Lockhart finished 2-for-4 with a double.

Goolsby struck out five and walked three to secure his second win of the fall.

Stonewall rallies past Coleman

STONEWALL — Jonah Bailey delivered the biggest hit of the night Monday for the Stonewall Longhorns.

Bailey lined an RBI double to left field with two outs in the bottom of the seventh inning, giving the Stonewall Longhorns a thrilling 8-7 walk-off victory over Coleman at Gibson Field.

Stonewall improved to 4-1, while Coleman also fell to 4-1 after suffering its first loss of the season.

The Longhorns were at Kiowa Tuesday before hosting Tupelo at 6:30 p.m. Thursday in the first round of the 2026 Tupelo Baseball Tournament.

Stonewall 8, Coleman 7

Coleman scored four runs in the top of the seventh to take a 7-6 lead, but Stonewall refused to go quietly.

With two outs in the bottom of the inning, Xander Dye delivered a run-scoring single to tie the game at 7-7, setting the stage for Bailey’s game-winning hit.

Jarrett Wyche led an 11-hit Stonewall attack, going 3-for-3 with two doubles and two runs scored. Landon Gutierrez finished 2-for-4 with three RBIs, including a two-run homer in the bottom of the fifth that put the Longhorns ahead 5-2.

Bailey also had two hits and drove in three runs, while Jaxson Christian doubled.

Silas Walters led the Coleman offense, going 2-for-3 with a solo home run, a double and three runs scored.

Bailey also turned in a strong start on the mound, striking out seven, walking two and allowing no earned runs in 3.2 innings.

Three Coleman pitchers combined for 10 strikeouts and five walks.

Tupelo shuts down Mounds

TUPELO — The Tupelo Tigers scored 12 runs in the bottom of the first inning and rolled past Mason 14-0 at home Monday night.

The Tigers remained unbeaten at 4-0 and are scheduled to host the 2026 Tupelo Baseball Tournament beginning Thursday at the Don Weller Baseball Facility.

Tupelo 14, Mounds 0

Ryder Johnson and Cal Vick had two hits apiece to lead Tupelo at the plate.

Johnson went 2-for-2 with a triple and a run scored, while Vick finished 2-for-2 with three RBIs and a run scored.

Josh Meek went 1-for-1 with an RBI and two runs scored, and Aiden Walkup finished 1-for-2 with two RBIs and two runs scored.

Walkup, Vick and Jagger Crites each pitched one inning for the Tigers. The trio combined for seven strikeouts and two walks while allowing just one hit.
