Koopmeiners is blocking Juventus move for top free agent

Franck Kessie and Juventus have held talks over a potential move to the club as a free agent at the end of this transfer window, following his departure from Al Ahli.

The Ivorian spent three seasons in the Saudi Pro League, where he earned significant money, but he now wants another opportunity in European football.

Serie A is the competition Kessie wants most, and he has been linked with a move to Juventus, with both parties already holding discussions over a potential agreement.

Juventus Keen to Complete Kessie Deal

Juventus want to complete the move as soon as possible and are reportedly willing to offer Kessie €4.5 million per season for the next three campaigns. However, the Bianconeri need to make room in their midfield before they can finalise the deal.

The club therefore need to offload one of their midfielders, with Teun Koopmeiners considered the player whose continued stay in Turin is blocking Kessie’s arrival the most.

Koopmeiners Remains Key to Juventus Plans

Tuttojuve reports that Juventus must sell one of their midfielders, with Koopmeiners’ presence in the squad creating the biggest obstacle to Kessie’s potential arrival.

The Dutchman has not improved as expected, while his high cost on the balance sheet has made it difficult for Juventus to find a solution for him during this summer’s transfer window.

The Bianconeri are doing their best to ensure Koopmeiners leaves, as his departure would give them greater flexibility to complete the proposed agreement with Kessie.

Juventus now hope the situation changes during the final weeks of the transfer window. Kessie’s desire to return to European football, combined with Juventus’ interest in securing his services, means the deal could still progress if the club manages to resolve the situation surrounding Koopmeiners.

For now, Juventus must focus on creating space within their midfield before they can bring Kessie to Turin. The coming days will determine whether they can complete the necessary sale and make room for the former Al Ahli midfielder.
