A Kentucky judge has granted a temporary injunction in an eligibility lawsuit involving quarterback Thomas Castellanos and basketball forward Mark Mitchell. The decision will now allow them to be eligible.
Mitchell and Castellanos are among 10 plaintiffs listed in a lawsuit, filed in a Louisville court. They requested a temporary restraining order, temporary injunction and a permanent in junction for a fifth year of eligibility.
The judge’s decision comes after the NCAA picked up a major win in the Wisne case in Colorado, where a judge granted eligibility for the entire Class of 2022 in late July. In an order Friday, the Tenth Circuit granted the NCAA’s request for a stay pending appeal.
