We have waived WR Jeff Caldwell with an injury designation. — Kansas City Chiefs (@Chiefs) The athleticism of the 6-foot-5, 216-pound Caldwell, combined with exceptional speed, made him a highly touted undrafted free-agent signing with a high ceiling. He played nine offensive snaps in the preseason opener against the Los Angeles Rams but failed to tally a catch on one target. Caldwell, alongside college teammate Cyrus Allen, had been a player to watch at training camp.

During the 2025 season at Cincinnati, Caldwell finished with 32 catches for 478 yards and six touchdowns in 13 games.

To fill the newly opened roster spot, the Chiefs are also signing defensive end Niles King, who was an undrafted free agent signing of the Los Angeles Chargers. The former San Diego State player had 30 tackles, 10 tackles for loss, and 6.5 sacks in his last college season.
