Shaedon Sharpe is facing an extended spell on the sidelines after a meniscus tear and NBA fans are showing him some love.
The Portland Trail Blazers have suffered a major injury blow during the NBA offseason, with Shaedon Sharpe set to miss six months after an injury to his meniscus.
The 23-year-old had his best season of his young career in 2025-26, becoming a key piece as the Trail Blazers returned to the postseason for the first time since 2021.
Sharpe averaged 20.8 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 2.6 assists per game last season and will be missed. Basketball fans took to social media to express their sympathies for the young star’s plight.

Sharpe has impressed in the NBA with his elite athleticism, on the offensive end as well as the defensive side. One of the best young dunkers in the league, the Canadian star has regularly wowed fans with his hops.
After the news of his injury was announced, fans on social media showed their support for Shaedon. There was also concern about how this might impact his game.
“Awful news. Love watching him play,” one fan wrote. “Just we thought the Blazers had a chance, come on now!” lamented another fan.
“Just when his career was really starting to take off too, this is so sad,” one comment read. “Damn, that’s rough. Six months is a long stretch, hope the recovery goes smooth for him,” a different reply said.
“This might be the end of all that dunking, sad to say,” a fifth fan stated. “Damn, incredibly unfortunate since he was so explosive,” a sixth fan wrote.
It will take time for Sharpe to return to his best even after he makes it back, recovery is a long process. Hopefully, the 23-year-old won’t lose the athleticism which makes him such an entertaining watch.
