Josh Jacobs pleads no contest in court case for battery charge

Packers running back Josh Jacobs appeared in court on Thursday, September 10, facing charges, entering a no contest plea on two misdemeanor charges – one for battery, and the other for criminal.

The plea was accepted after Jacobs agreed to meet the following five conditions for the next 12 months: commit no further criminal acts, have no contact with the victim, remain under court supervision, attend counseling, and pay restitution to the victim.

The charges did not involve domestic violence as the incident did not meet the state's requirements under domestic violence laws, as Jacobs was not married to or living with the victim of the crime, nor did they have any children together.

Jacobs was at the end of August, making him ineligible to play. The league has not provided a timeline for removing Jacobs from the list and told USA Today Sports that they are "closely monitoring all developments in the matter, which remains under review of the personal conduct policy. " As of now, Jacobs is still on the commissioner's exempt list.
