Jorge Prado has renewed his contract with Red Bull KTM in a multi-year extension, the team announced prior to the Unadilla National in New Berlin, New York. The length of the contract was not announced. Moving from Europe to the United States was not without difficulty. Prado struggled to find his flow while racing with Kawasaki. He struggled often in the Pro Motocross series in 2025 and finished outside the top five in the standings. His performance turned around immediately with his first event on a KTM. Prado finished on the podium in third in the first Anaheim race. "I'm really happy to have re-signed with the Red Bull KTM Factory Racing team, because we've had great past seasons winning in MXGP, and this past year was great in Supercross – we achieved some podiums, had a couple of heat race wins, and now we've been very strong outdoors," Prado said in a news release. "I'm just happy to be working with this great group of people for the future, so I am super-excited and hopeful that we can achieve our goals." Moving out of the MXGP series, Prado was much less comfortable in the stadium series, but he improved massively in 2026. Prado scored nine top-10s in the Monster Energy Supercross series with another podium in the season finale in Salt Lake City, Utah. The pressure was on with the start of the Pro Motocross series. This is where Prado should excel and he lived up to expectations. Second-place overall finishes at Fox Raceway and RedBud highlighted the season and put him into a contest with Haiden Deegan for the rider to challenged Hunter and Jett Lawrence. Prado is currently fourth in the Pro Motocross standings with a 29-point deficit to Deegan in third. Prado is third in the combined SuperMotocross World Championship League. "We’re excited to have Jorge continue with KTM," said Red Bull KTM Team Manager, Ian Harrison. "Jorge and KTM have agreed to a contract extension, and our entire team is looking forward to seeing him continue to develop his Supercross and motocross skills here in the United States. We were all impressed by how quickly he adapted to Supercross in 2026. His confidence and speed, particularly through the whoops, stood out as one of his greatest strengths in one of the most demanding sections of the track. Jorge has shown tremendous willingness to learn, and we believe his best years are ahead of him. We’re looking forward to this next chapter, supporting him, and seeing his growth and success with KTM in the future."
