Joey Logano wins NASCAR Cup Series race at Richmond in August 2026

The NASCAR Cup Series competed at Richmond Raceway, and it was a fascinating event. Ryan Blaney won Stage 1 while Joey Logano won Stage 2; however, which Team Penske driver entered victory lane? At the end of the night, Joe Gibbs Racing driver Chase Briscoe was unable to pass a red-hot Team Penske competitor.

Logano and the No. 22 team for Team Penske won the Cook Out 400 at Richmond on Saturday night, earning their second victory of the 2026 Cup Series season. The driver of the No. 22 team had to pass Christopher Bell and then hold off Briscoe, who had the better car at the end of the event.

It was a dominant showing for Logano, who won Stage 2 by over eight seconds. While the Final Stage wasn't as cut and dry, the Team Penske driver flexed his muscles when it mattered the most. Logano is climbing the standings quickly, as he pursues his fourth Cup Series championship in the fall.
