The will open the 2026 regular season Sunday against a quarterback they know could present plenty of challenges. The are entering Year 2 with Cam Ward under center after selecting the former standout with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.
Ward's rookie season featured its share of ups and downs, but the talented signal-caller still threw for 3,169 yards and 15 touchdowns while continuing to flash the arm talent that made him one of college football's most decorated quarterbacks.
Ahead of Sunday's matchup, Jets head coach Aaron Glenn spoke with the media and was asked what stands out most when studying Ward on film.
"One thing that really shows up is his ability to make all of the throws with these different arm angles. I think that's pretty impressive by him. He clearly has an understanding of the offense. You can tell that him and Brian Daboll are lockstep," Glenn said.

"Good quarterback," Duker said. "He's obviously a good player. No. 1 overall pick for a reason. "
While Ward enters just his second NFL season, the respect from New York's coaching staff is evident. His ability to create plays both inside and outside the pocket has made him one of the more intriguing young quarterbacks in the AFC.
