Jerry Jones not done adding players, believes Dallas Cowboys have chance to get over Super Bowl hump
Jerry Jones said he feels better about the Dallas Cowboys chances of making a Super Bowl run now than he did at the start of training camp.

The Dallas Cowboys have officially signed future Hall of Fame edge rusher Von Miller and he will be on the practice Tuesday though it more of a ramp for the 37-year-old in his 15th year until the start of the regular season.

At the start of training camp, owner Jerry Jones promised they would add help for their questionable pass rush and they delivered with Miller, who will not only harass quarterbacks but provide championship leadership to a team that hasn’t won a Super Bowl since the 1995 season and a locker room that was previously devoid of any players with any semblance of playoff success.

“You get someone that’s been there and done that,” Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said. of Miller. We feel real good. We’ve really been communicating with him for a lot of weeks here. He could really help us.”

Both coach Brian Schottenheimer said the team may not be done adding to players to a defense that finished last in the NFL last season.

Jones said Miller’s signing doesn’t change that. They would still make a play for an impact player.

“Yes, if we had an opportunity, I would be [open to a trade],” Jones said. “It’s as much about what I think of where we are, which I’m more positive than when we started camp, seriously, about what our chances are. And so I think if we saw an opportunity to take a little of the future and put it on this team, I’d do it if it would help us.”

Jones also said that at the start of training camp because he good about the team’s chances of competing and finally getting back to the Super Bowl.

After three weeks of camp, he feels even better about the the Cowboys’ roster now, especially with the addition of Miller. That makes him more inclined to make a move to get the Cowboys over the Super Bowl hump.

“I’m even more excited today than I was when we started camp that our team is going to be one that if we can have some things go right for us, avoid some injury, we could really be something that we all want to be, and that’s a team that’s competing for the big game,” Jones said. “Bottom line is, the answer is yes. If we saw something that would help us anyplace, we’d do it.”
