Philadelphia 76ers‘ Jaylen Brown helped deliver a massive surprise, which could probably be life-changing to a single mother of four, teaming up with popular social media influencer Zachary Dereniowski to gift a brand-new 2027 Nissan Sentra.
Dereniowski, better known online as MD Motivator, initially met Jaylen Brown at an event in Boston and asked if he wanted to give away a car to a family or some people. Brown agreed to that request.
Then Dereniowski met the woman and one of her children at Boston Common. What began as a simple interaction eventually turned into an emotional surprise, which neither the mother nor child could have expected.
The pair initially came to Dereniowski wanting a picture before he started talking to them and learned more about their family.
During the conversation, the woman revealed she was raising four children—three boys and a girl—as a single mother. She also explained the family did not have a car, which became an obvious challenge for a household of five.
Dereniowski then offered the child an opportunity to get his shoes signed by Jaylen Brown, and that was when the surprise became even more personal.
After meeting the family, Brown recognized the mother from her work at a Boys and Girls Club and acknowledged the positive work she had done in the community.
Instead of just signing the shoes and sending the family on their way, Brown and Dereniowski had something bigger planned.
They blindfolded the mother and child and took them to a brand-new 2027 Nissan Sentra and revealed that the vehicle belonged to them, and their emotional reaction was pretty immediate.
Both the mother and child began crying after realizing they had been given the car. The vehicle was provided with the involvement of Shane Sullivan of Sullivan Brothers Toyota, turning what was an ordinary encounter at Boston Common into a life-changing moment for the family.
For Brown, this gesture also carried some personal significance.
