Jasprit Bumrah has been cleared to return to India’s T20I side for the upcoming series against Afghanistan, beginning September 13.
Bumrah was included in India’s initial squad for the three-match series but was subject to a fitness assessment after missing recent international matches because of a recurring left-knee injury.
The fast bowler last played for India in the third ODI against England in July. He was subsequently ruled out of the two-Test series in Sri Lanka after the knee issue resurfaced.
Bumrah’s return will be a significant boost for India as it prepares for a busy period that includes the 2026 Asian Games.
India will begin its Afghanistan T20I series on September 13.
