According to ESPN’s Ryan McFadden, Las Vegas Raiders’ offensive lineman Jackson Powers-Johnson exited Monday’s training camp practice with an apparent injury. McFadden noted that Powers-Johnson went down during the team’s red zone period and “quickly popped back up” before heading to the sideline and walking into the facility with a trainer once the period concluded.

At the time of writing, the extent of the injury is unknown. But Silver and Black Pride will provide updates as more information comes along.

This major setback for Powers-Johnson for a couple of reasons. He’s competing with second-year pro Caleb Rogers for the starting right guard spot and appeared to have the upper hand in the position battle. Those two have been rotating recently, but the former has taken the majority of the first-team reps in camp so far. Also, he was listed as the starter on the Raiders’ initial depth chart. If the Oregon product does have to miss time, that gives Rogers an opportunity to win the job with about two weeks left of camp.

Also, Powers-Johnson already has a rather long injury history heading into his third NFL season. He missed two games with an illness as a rookie, and he ended last season on injured reserve with an ankle injury, sitting out the final eight games of the 2025 campaign. He also missed a game with a concussion last year, and the former Duck dealt with hip, groin and concussion issues in college.

Again, S&BP will provide updates when the severity of the injury is known, but this could be a significant setback for Las Vegas. Last year’s offensive line struggles were well-documented, and the team is counting on Powers-Johnson to at least compete for a starting spot in the trenches. With Spencer Burford likely starting at left guard, after Rogers, the Raiders’ options on the other side are Jordan Meredith, Atonio Mafi, rookie Trey Zuhn III or Will Putnam if Powers-Johnson has to miss time.
