Lazio and Inter Milan have reached an agreement in principle for the transfer of Davide Frattesi, with the deal now moving toward final definition and the Nerazzurri set to retain a significant percentage on any future resale.
According to Gianluca Di Marzio, the two clubs have found common ground on the formula for the midfielder’s move to the capital, with Fabrizio Romano adding the economic detail: a loan fee of €1 million with a €14 million redemption clause attached.
The structure is built around a paid loan with an option to buy that is set to become an obligation if favourable conditions are met during the coming season, allowing Lazio to secure Frattesi immediately while spreading out the financial commitment.
Frattesi, born in 1999 and previously of Sassuolo, could become one of Lazio’s most important midfield additions if the move is finalised. The midfielder offers dynamism, late runs into the box and a presence in the opposition area.
Inter’s Resale Safeguard
Central to the agreement is a clause giving Inter a substantial cut of any future sale of Frattesi, protecting the Nerazzurri’s investment over the medium term even as they accept a reduced fixed fee now.
According to Football Italia, Sky Sport Italia and Sport Mediaset have specified that figure at 50 per cent of any future sale, a notably large share that would raise the player’s value to €30 million.
The proposed arrangement would give Lazio an immediate route to signing Frattesi while leaving Inter with a significant interest in any future transfer.
