Addressing the inaugural session of V-TAPP-2026 at VIT-AP University on Friday, Mr. Dasari said students should begin their innovation journey by identifying a problem and developing solutions to address it. A clear sense of purpose would help them understand the challenges involved and identify the additional requirements needed to refine and improve their ideas, he said.
He described V-TAPP as an important platform for students to understand the purpose of technology and transform innovative ideas into practical solutions.
VIT-AP University is hosting the two-day technology festival on September 11 and 12 under the theme ‘QuantumPulse – V-TAPP’. The event brings together students, innovators and technology enthusiasts from across the country, providing them opportunities to compete, collaborate, experiment and showcase their technological skills.
The festival features 92 events covering innovation, creativity, exhibitions, demonstrations and a range of engineering and technology-based activities. It has received nearly 7,000 entries from VIT and universities across the country, reflecting the growing interest among students in emerging technologies, innovation and problem-solving.
The inaugural programme began with a drone show that captivated students and guests and set the tone for the two-day festival.
E. R. Raj Kumar, Vice-President, Accenture, Bengaluru, urged students to recognise their strengths and weaknesses and work continuously to overcome their limitations.
P. Arulmozhivarman, Vice-Chancellor, VIT-AP University, said the scale and diversity of V-TAPP 2026 reflected the enthusiasm of students for innovation and technology. The festival had emerged as a vibrant platform for students to demonstrate their creativity, engineering skills and innovative thinking, he said.
Registrar Jagadish Chandra Mudiganti said participants would have opportunities to present projects, demonstrate prototypes, take part in technical challenges and engage with emerging areas of technology. The activities were designed to promote creative thinking, problem-solving, teamwork and application-oriented learning, he said.
Convener Soumya Ranjan Sahoo delivered the welcome address. Deputy Director, Student Welfare, Khadeer Pasha, Co-Conveners Sambhudatta Nanda and Gokul Nanduri, besides students, faculty members and staff, were present.
